    Thanks,

Hopefully the new version will restore the “old” functionality!

I wasn’t referring to how much RAM each Windows app can use, but how much RAM Windows can recognize in the system overall. My understanding is that Windows XP 32-bit can “see” up to 4 GB. In the case of Bootcamp it can only “see” 2 GB.

I’ve had a Mac Pro for a year and I’ve been using mostly XP via Bootcamp during that time. Only one shortcoming that I can think of; XP will only “see” 2 GB of RAM and ignore the rest. Whether AE 8 is able to access the “invisible” RAM or not, I don’t know, as I’m still running AE 7.

Oh, and when you buy your Mac Pro, don’t even think about not buying the AppleCare protection. A month ago my Mac Pro completely died. Wouldn’t even turn on. They ended up replacing the power supply and the logic board. I didn’t lose any data, but I would have been out about $1,500 if I hadn’t had the AppleCare!

    Dave,

This is all great information… I’ts too bad the the deck was rented and the spot needs to be done on Monday! It looks like I’ll be pulling the footage from the Digibeta downconverts for this one–and the next 12 ads. It’s a crying shame… the HD stuff looks so gorgeous. I’ll be printing this thread for future reference, though. I hate interlacing. Next time they ask me what framerate to shoot, I’m going for 30p.

    Dave,

You could be right, but my understanding is that because all the frames are there, one can capture them all, if so desired, even if the footage was shot as 24p. In order to test this out, I suppose I should reinterpret the footage as 23.98 in AE, then drop it into a D1 comp and see how it renders out.

    Thanks for the response!

What will the reverb do for the voice track? And, if they were to record again, what could they do differently to make it better?

    Hey! That’s a thought… I’ll try it.

I use standard approach with Craigslist. I have a decent resume with excellent references and a pretty good demo reel. I see Craigslist as a long term investment. There is very little chance of making big bucks fast, but a very high probability of gaining excellent clients and making a lot of money over the long term.
