  • Edit in Audition in CS3?

Recently upgraded to CS3 and I hate Soundbooth. I had a fast workflow with Premiere & Audition, but Soundbooth is like a giant speed bump. Is there a way to get rid of Soundbooth so I can right click on an audio clip in Premiere and choose “edit in Audition”, once again?

There is going to be a new version of Audition out sometime this month that you can upgrade to for $99, it probably will work better with PpCS3

    Thanks,

Hopefully the new version will restore the “old” functionality!

Found this on the Adobe site:

    “Audio editing for video

Use Adobe Audition to edit the soundtracks for videos created in Adobe After Effects? or Adobe Premiere Pro software with the Edit Original and Edit in Adobe Audition features.”

I’m wondering, though, if I uninstall Soundbooth, will Premiere CS3 link up with Audition CS2?

It will not. The only thing you can do is edit original.

Thanks; you saved me the trouble of testing it out. I guess I’ll be waiting for the new version of Audition.

The new version will not work either. Edit original is all you can do.

How do you know? Audition 3 hasn’t been released yet.

The whole production premium is based around Soundbooth. The new Audition 3 will not have code that will update Premiere. They are not connected anymore.

According to the Adobe website, Audition 3 will have the “Edit in Adobe Audition” functionality from within Premiere Pro.

“Use Adobe Audition to edit the soundtracks for videos created in Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro software with the Edit Original and Edit in Adobe Audition features.”
