This is exactly how I do it in the AVID, but now how do I save that effect to apply to another 10 frame clip (incoming and outgoing)?

I may be speaking out of turn a bit, but I believe the user manual is available in the help menu electronically. It’s the first or second selection.

Well, here’s the real issue. Any graphics created with the new PAR’s don’t translate back to earlier versions (at least v7.0 in my experience) of AE. So when I import GFX with a PAR of 1.21 created in PS CS4 it comes into AE7 at a .9 PAR. This is a problem for out of house designers who will be providing content. I see this causing all kinds of problems.
Great link though…I had NO idea! clean aperture – production aperture…I had never heard of that! I’ll read through it more later…consider it bookmarked!

If you relate the comps by placing one in the other and have *synchronize time of related comps* in your preference dialogue box set…that should work.

I’ve found the exposure effect to offer a nice transition. Take your master parameter up until it’s white in about 10 frames on your outgoing clip and then reverse the effect on your incoming. Creates a nice 20 frame *transition*

Well, I can begin to answer my question…they’ve changed the PAR.
The old 1.2 is now 1.21 and the old .9 is .91. That is the reason for the different number, but why? Have we been doing it wrong for the last several years? Any ideas?

Strange that selecting multiple clips and left clicking to check the checkbox doesn’t apply to all selected. But right-clicking will do it. That is really odd. Seems like both should work.

OK…I get it, makes sense on how it works. But what is the benefit of this? I can’t figure out one? Why wouldn’t apple design it in a more linear fashion? There has to be some benefit to doing it this way.
Also, why would you ever pull clips from your browser? Why wouldn’t you just edit directly to the timeline via the finder? Why even use the browser and organize your clips by bins if they aren’t directly referenced anymore?
