try the exposure effect…that should get you closer than the glow effect to what the incubus video did.

Hey Dave, I’ve done this and still am experiencing issues. I have a feeling there may be larger problems @ work. This is an older cam and hasn’t been treated the greatest…I think it may be some issue with the internal workings of the lens and imaging devices. I’ve really tried every thing I can think of…digitized into my AVID…Premier and FCP…I can’t get it to look right, I was just hoping I was doing something wrong with the 30p setting…but doesn’t look like it.

Hey Shane,

First off, the footage was shot in 30p which…by the specs laid out for this camera, should create single frames with higher quality than interlacing.

Second…I did connect the camera to my television via the RCA connectors on the side of the camera. There is still this really bad blurring on horizontal lines.

I’ve experienced the same problem today…I’m on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.5.6 and the blue tint shows up when the file is larger than 1MB…

Here’s an interesting thing…I made the same slideshow on my home PC and no blue tint at all…but it did fail with a *too high bit-rate* error. That’s why I took it over to the mac.

Just adding in my experience.

mine creates keyframes (for the 2 middle) but it doesn’t move them…if I remove all keyframing (unselect stopwatch) it moves them and looks appropriate.

The project is creating basically glorified power point. So I am duplicating the comps and then changing the text content…so the size/spacing/# of lines changes for each one.

The animation is not to move them as a whole unit (parenting) but to stagger them on – like a ripple having them land every 4 frames…the animation ending needs to be *cascading*…that would be a good word to use.

So they all start off screen @ the same position but move independently to land.

Make Sense?

I’m just trying to figure out if this is my machine being buggy (which it is quite often) or the functionality of AE.

I think this is a function of FCP…I like AVID’s scrubbing MUCH better…it’s less digital and sounds more like sped up audio – like a chipmunk 🙂

I understand your workflow and how this circumvents saving a favorite effect. HOWEVER…when I save this effect, it DOES retain the keyframes…it just doesn’t place them correctly. Any idea as to how it is placing the keyframes? If so, I could figure out how to get to work.
