    OK…

I HAVE 2 LED display’s…both work ONLY with the DisplayPort adapter. When I put a new card in my MacPro, I had to REMOVE one card…the card has 2 outputs…one DisplayPort, one DVI.

There is no *apple* product to make a male-DVI connection to a female-DisplayPort.

However, I did find this link:

    https://www.atlona.com/Atlona-DVI-to-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter-p-17859.html

Seems to do what I need.

I DON’T like mixing the two…the LED’s are SO MUCH better than the LCD’s…I’ve spoiled myself to the point of *whatever it takes* to run dual LED displays.

I’m very curious though…will the MacPro benefit from having 2 video cards? Or is it only a connection issue? I could remove my RAID card…and just use my eSATA 8TB raid…and then add back in my additional video card.

    What are your thoughts?

You are missing something…I do that all the time. No issue. You have SOMETHING turned on or off in your save settings from illustrator.

Try it on another machine maybe…or download a stock eps from Adobe’s site to test and make sure that works…

    Try an EPS…

AI is good if you want to bring layers in from illustrator…but I have great luck with a simple one graphic using eps…they are smaller too!

I completely agree…it’s great to get ACCURATE information out to people…there are so many hacks around…information can be very mismatched…

Interesting…the only options with a Matrox is Line out/digital out/internal speakers

That’s actually a pretty big selling point for Kona over Matrox…wish I’d have known that before I bought 2 matrox boxes!

That info does help. I love my 17″….

I think it was you who suggested against going for the 22″ because the 17″ was good enough.

I guess I’m VERY naive when it comes to video quality. I equate pixel count to quality. a 1920 monitor must be better than a 1366 monitor…because it has more pixels.

I don’t understand a couple things. The pixel count of the smaller monitor is 800×480. That doesn’t add up to match what I’ve come to know as D1 – 864×486 square or DV – 864×480 square. How does that translate to matching up with SD or HD video? The aspect is off, right?

Also…why does my 17″ monitor have a resolution of 1366×768…720HD footage is @ 1280×720 square. How does that translate?

I’ll probably end up getting the 7″ for field work…I’d just like a better understanding of these strange resolutions.

    Versions? Moving between CS2, 3, 4?

    Saved as AI or eps?

[Bram Desmet] “slightly less than 7RU”

What is 7RU? I’m not familiar with case sizes and stuff…is that a standard measurement or size?

I was rethinking when I saw the new LM-0750W.

Any idea as to how that will work as a field monitor? Does anyone have one yet? I like the battery operation…that will be pretty slick. Although the resolution is only 800×600…I guess on a 7″ monitor it’s probably not that bad?

    Hey Thomas…

I’m using an HDV to ProRes capture which doesn’t open a Capture Dialogue window…only allows you to assign a clip name which it appends a -1 -2 -3 etc on the end every time there is a scene change.

Issue is, I capture hour long clips and by that time I’ve moved on and sometimes forget to assign a reel name. Looking to do it before I start capture.

No…the Mackie I’m using directly out to headphones or Control room monitors…no amp.

I’m thinking there should be a box to convert Digital to analog balanced. That’s all I need…doesn’t seem that crazy.
