Does the 720 format come in other flavors or is the standard 60fps?
I may be asking a loaded question, because I’m guessing that delivery is dependent upon “standard” … I’m not referring to broadcast…only blu-ray and what monitors would support playing back from a media box type of delivery.

OK…I think I got it…I’ve worked with NTSC D1 interlaced Betacam SD video for a LONG time…so I fully understand interlacing.
Question about 720p…so I can do 720p at 29.97…right? I know I’ve naively rendered things to the 720 resolution at 29.97 progressive. (played back on a media box…worked correctly)
I think I was mosly confused by the fact that 1080 is listed at 60i sometimes…but I’ve never heard the listing 60p…wouldn’t that be the correct way to refer to 720p footage?
1920×1080 60i would be 30 frames per second interlaced.
1280x720p could be called 60p? Correct?Thanks for helping me understand this guys…

Sorry to not mention that at the beginning…forgot that I wouldn’t be batch digitizing them….
Do you use FCP reconnect to do this? I watched the tutorial…seems maybe a LITTLE over my head…I may be able to figure it out, but before I got it I wanted to make sure it definitely could.

I like the idea…sometimes I’m not sure if what I’m asking should be in the newbie section…
I do appreciate all the help here…as an AVID guy learning and growing with Final Cut…Creative Cow has been an invaluable resource for me!

Alright…I’ve got it working (kinda)
I import the clips in…time code is coming in correct on my offline clips…
Issue is…I really wanted to (and neglected to mention) that I want all these clips to be subclips of ONE media file I already have…they aren’t coming off tape…so when I reconnect one of the offline files…it really needs to be a subclip of the source file. Is there a way to label the offline clip as a subclip?

I’ve worked with the Meridien codec in FCP…just FYI.
It came in the LE bundle…

I had NO idea there was a “range selector” feature for adding effects to a specific part of a clip…I’ll play with that.
As far as this function I was trying…I’ve already completed the video, just wanted to know if there was an easier way.

What I was trying to do specifically was in the audio…I was taking a cussword and reversing the clip…adding edit to isolate it, then reverse the clip…
I would use this in other applications to add an effect to a specific part of a clip…it would be convenient.

Sort of…that’s mark clip…I’m using that to create the in and out range…
