Works great! Thanks so much…I guess a google search probably brought that up in a few seconds 🙂

I was wondering how to access those braille characters that come with the mac os. I guess it’s likely through the accessibility controls like you suggest.

    I’m moving on! 🙂

    Thanks again!

And, I forgot to mention…that when I load the software, I get an error saying that the MPB is missing a “FAM driver”. So I assume that the full installer will take care of that issue? I’ve researched and found that that is needed when connecting XDCAM via firewire…so it’s not even an issue currently.

In addition to the XDCAM transfer.app file I copied from my friend, I got a DMG installer for the SxS, so that is working…

I am working with the EX cards in a MBP…but also will be (eventually) working with the discs on my tower…just wanted to get the software on my machines *correctly* 🙂

    Thanks…

I actually had found this link, but was confused…maybe I’m missing something (I don’t shoot XDCAM, but I’ve needed to ingest content from cards)

The version seems to count up…(current being 2.10.0), but there is notation after the software name…I initially thought these were codecs…I assumed that I was downloading the XDCAM codecs to play back?

Is it appropriate to get v2.10.0? I’m using Leopard with Final Cut Studio 3.

    Thanks for the help.

I’m using a Flanders Scientific – LM-1760W and it looks great at 1920×1080. Previewing HD-SDI out of my Matrox MXO2.

I did just send in the monitor (after 3 months) wouldn’t power up…they did a warranty repair and it’s working now.

    Hey Guys,

Great dialogue…as a future owner of a PDW-700, I wanted to get involved in the conversation of workflow and make sure I’m using the XDCAM technology correctly.

November 4, 2009 at 2:42 pm in reply to: using extend edit effectively

I guess it’s semantics…but I consider a transition a change from one thing to another…a pan or zoom is a visual transition…a cut is an edit transition…like a dissolve…just my opinion.

So if you used extend edit in AVID, then you would not need to select a “cut”…you’d just have the track selection on. But that is not how FCP works…you have to actually select the edit to extend it.

[Bret Williams] “Well you don’t have to have a transition selected. Just the end of a clip or a cut.”

Isn’t that the same thing? The end of a cut is a “transition” it’s a cut to black…right? 🙂

Good information, I didn’t know you could do it with multiple clips. I used extend edit all the time on AVID, but FCP’s works totally different…so I’m trying to figure out how to use it.

Just to make sure…you should be using 720×480 set to 16×9 anamorphic. 1920×1080 is just your source, right?

The issue may be the QT ref…why aren’t you using File – Send to – Compressor? That is my workflow and it’s flawless.
