Anyone want the background image I’m having issues with? I think I’ve found a bug with the software…how should I proceed? Just send a technical note to Adobe?

Sure…I really didn’t know this was the case. I had been using 44.1 in my previous job (betacam – D1).

I’ve been trying to work at 48, but this particular music track was one I had pulled in early on in my new position. My standard protocol from now on will be to work exclusively at 48, and I’ll make sure to pay attention to this specific aspect.

When you say “native” what do you mean?

The timeline can be set for 48 or 44…that’s my whole understanding about FCP is that there isn’t really a “native” … you can have a timeline that uses any compressor and any frame rate and any dimensions…there’s really no “native” in final cut.

They are AIFF…I know not to use compressed audio:

Format: 16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo, 44.100 kHz

You know what…as I just copied that…I realized that my comp is set to 48Khz…I changed it to match and it works fine…thanks for the post, I played with it for about 45minutes before I posted…I couldn’t figure this out!

I’m sure my VO is 48…so how do you mix 48 & 44?

VOB files are the VIDEO files from a DVD…they are muxed (meaning audio and video together) – they contain MPEG2 video (at various bit-rates and pixel aspects) and [I believe] either PCM or AC3 (dolby digital) audio.

VLC will natively play these files, and as Shane provided, MPEG Streamclip is a GREAT way to get them into an editable format.

Mine (CS4) will continue to update the text based on the contents (until you manually change the name) – once you do that, I can’t get it back to auto updating.

I have another machine at my work…I can recreate the problem with the ONLY consistency being a background image. New Encore project, new Photoshop doc…just copy the pixels. I think either I found a bug or a color match that encore isn’t friendly with.

I’ll post in the Encore forum as well.

I took the project file to another machine and burned it. It’s experiencing the same problem.

I’ll completely rebuild with the same background tomorrow and let you know what happens.

I have the project file (CS4 – about 50MB) if you’re interested in seeing it.
