  • change layer name to content of text

I created a new text layer…the name of that layer was what was typed in the layer.

I accidentally clicked and renamed the layer. Now I can’t get it back to update to what the text says…I can manually change it, but how do you make it change with the text once you’ve changed it?

I’m reasonably certain that the initial text input=layer name is the extent of the automated feature. After that, layer renaming is manual only.

Mine (CS4) will continue to update the text based on the contents (until you manually change the name) – once you do that, I can’t get it back to auto updating.

My CS4 is behaving exactly the same.
