Do you think this was a good or bad thing? I’m in the same boat…I’m excited about learning at the PPW sessions…but as my plan looks now, I won’t get to the exhibit hall!

So, as I understand it, if I want to archive (bit-for-bit) the BPAV folder for archive, then use clip browser.
If I want to just pull off and work with QT wrapped EX3 codec, then XDCAM transfer is completely fine to use as a standalone solution?
The idea is that most things we shoot with the EX3 would be internal and be more podcast and topical stuff. I just need to ingest and edit that stuff…and backup the imported footage. I’d never want the BPAV folder again in most cases.

How much extra?
From what I heard, you can attend the class…but pay extra to take the certification.
I couldn’t find any pricing info on extra costs for cert. classes.

OK…I’ve got one specific question.
I’m going to book for the “Post/Production World Best Value” package – with the Creative Cow free expo pass.
My question is: will that pass get me into the “Apple Certified Pro Training” for Final Cut and Motion? I don’t need to pay for the certification….just attend the classes.

Hey Martin,
First time here too! It’s a bit daunting to figure out where to go…I’d like to take some formal apple certified training…but I see a ton of 1/2 and 1 hour classes during the week. Do you know if there is a cost of those?

Are you talking about running a RAID configuration with multiple eSATA plugs? Or just ONE drive plugged into ONE eSATA port?

Haven’t tried it…I only have 1 Big Quadra drive…that’s the only eSATA device I have.
I was looking at the 4 port card and it is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the 2 port. Why is this? Do people raid multiple eSATA drives together with a card like that? Is it necessary?
