Thanks walter, but all this does is rotate the objects in the opposite direction that the null spins. If I parent the layers to the null they are expressed to, they just stay still…

    not quite there…

Yes, this does make sense…I need to dig a bit deeper into those settings, but as I have my files:

    video_4839_TC_Proxy.mov

    and

    video_4839.mov

These won’t link up as being a high res and proxy version, correct? They HAVE to have the same name, right?

  • As I said, thanks for summer help! It only took about 30 minutes…no big deal

I did play with it a bit, going through bulk edit. I tried copy/paste but it was just pasting the clips into the catalog…not just the metadata. Is it a “paste metadata” command in the edit menu? I didn’t see it there.

July 28, 2011 at 2:30 am in reply to: Create PDF from catalog?

    Thanks Rolf…that worked perfectly.

I’m printing to PDF after outputting via HTM and the page breaks are breaking the fields into pieces.

I have 3 text fields below a filmstrip thumbnail…is there anyway to force the name-thumbnail-and 3 text fields all together and break to new page instead of breaking them apart?

[bryson jones] “I’m assuming you mean proxy for media in a catalog.”

Yes….I have full res clips that I ran through and created proxy with TC burn in.

[bryson jones] “named correctly and in the right directory in the proxy path”

    This is what I’m asking

    1) what is “named correctly” They have the same prefix, with an addendum “_TC_Proxy”
    2) Right directory? Matching directory strugure?
    3) Proxy path – I can’t find anywhere to define a “proxy path” Do they have to live on mirrored volume directories? Can it live in a subfolder? The catalog I’m building is on a single machine while I try to get a handle on how to implement this software on a larger scale.

  • About 640 entries…some were duplicated. I already finished…thank god for summer help! 🙂

  • TMTS Flashframe is a GREAT effect…I use it for EVERY transition! 🙂 Is that too much?

[Craig Seeman] “able to play H.264 .mov on Windows Media Player 12 which comes with Windows 7”

What about Vista? Any native support for .mov h264’s?

    [Craig Seeman] “Compressor doesn’t encode H.264 .mp4”

I was specifically asking about Matrox h264 codec used through compressor (you can use Episode and Adobe Media Encoder to compress with that chip and codec as well). Do you have any experience or advice with the Matrox workflow in relation to creating h264 with .mp4 containers?

Hey Craig….you are one of the biggest reasons I come to the cow. What a great resource you are for all of us!

I keep running into the same kind of questions being asked here. I have one thing to add as a question. I use Matrox MAX regularly…that codec sits inside a .mov container.

I’m regularly asked to deliver .mp4 for “PC Compatibility” I don’t have much experience with the newer versions of windows…but I understand from research I’ve done that Windows 7 can natively play .mp4 h264 files.

So….there is an option with Compressor to change the extension of a compressed file. If I change this from .mov to .mp4 my guess that it’s doing nothing any different than I’d do by just changing the extension in finder.

Do you have any experience with the Matrox codec in regards to a .mp4 container?
