Check the field dominance on your MPEG 2 setting, should be lower for NTSC.

Easy setups are your friend!

However, because you are using 2 non Kona native clips you will have to do some tweaking. So just use the FCP easy setups for the HDV and the DVCPRO, basically for the timelines and then you can use the corresponding Kona Easy Setup for the output for monitoring. This works like a charm.

If you have the time I would suggest a clean install of your os and FCS, however, I just installed it over 5.0.4 and have not had any issues. I am also running the latest version of QT7.1.1 and the new Kona Drivers. I am on a Kona 2 by the way. Everything seams to be working wonderfully (knock on wood) and I have jun the gambit so far doing HD and SD capture and well as general editing and layback.

I had the same thing happen at some point a while back. I am now running 5.1 on 10.4.6 and do not have that issue.

I have just about the same setup as you, however, I have the Xserve RAID and not the Huge drives, but I am completely current with all software. Not a problem to report.

I have been wondering the same thing. However, I heard that there will be no event this year from my VAR. So I am hoping that they are wrong, as I took at 7am flight to get to Vegas for that. We still have a few weeks though.

Yea, video card is a ATI Radeon 9800 XT. I also have some firewire and usb devices attached to my system, but I don’t know how that would affect anything, unless there is a driver issue. I can think of 3 things with drivers that could effect things, Wacom tablet, Kensignton Mouse, and APC UPS. Firewire device is DA Max. And that is everything. I have really tried to keep the system as clean as possible.

Have not contacted AJA, as it still works, but just thought that there might me a work around. And today I did not have a problem, go figure.

I have a dual 2.5 and only 2 gigs of RAM. I have the Kona 2 card, an Apple Fiber card for the Xserve RAID and an upgraded video card.
