Yes, you can customize your keyboard. In fact I know someone who as an avid keyboard that they use with FCP. They customized there keys in FCP to match the avid keyboard. It can be done if you really want to do it.

You don’t have to use a video card, you can also use the Io from AJA. It will connect via firewire and supports uncompressed video. They also make just a digital or analog versions for under $1000. But a Blackmagic card maybe cheaper at $295, but it may only be digital (I am not sure off hand). And if you just want to monitor video you probably are looking for analog anyway.

Yes you can do that in FCP. There are also several plugins that will do this to. And if you get Motion you can use that as well.

April 20, 2005 at 4:46 pm in reply to: Kona 2 driver/firmware update problems?

I have not had any issues with the update, and I do have audio working perfectly.

This is a stupid suggestion, but did you check your audio for the Kona in system preferences? Thats always the last place I look. Also the Kona control panel now has a scroll on its tabs, I am not sure if you meant that you couldn’t find the audio tab or not, but that might be why it is hiding. Just look for the <> on the sides.

“I understand there is new support for up-converting SD to HD in the Kona2, is this only for SDI inputs?”

The Kona 2 only has SDI inputs, so the answer to your question is yes.

April 13, 2005 at 5:00 pm in reply to: Font Problem Please Help!

Thank you all for your help. I had contacted my client and explained the problem. Then sent me some new files, and some of them worked, but others didn’t. I got what I needed though. I am not exactly sure what the difference is, but it is working so I am not going to complain. Once again thank you all.
