Yeah, I sure did. In fact, I kept getting 320X240 image buffer errors on the desktop…un plugged the external drive, plugged it into the lap top – rendered the same exact file and it made it through fine. WITH other applications (AVG free edition) running in the background – and without a restart.

Even with a restart and all programs shut down on the desktop it didn’t make it through. Something to do with the video card possibly? I’m running a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 on the desktop and the lap top has an ATI Mobility Radeon X600.

just the particle system inside of AE. I was trying to use the grid particles. I’ve used the fountain one before and was able to get the results I wanted. This time through I’ve had no luck. Time is becoming a factor on this as well so I’m working through the scene and going to come back to the particle rain drops later with my fingers crossed.

  • The “render to file” time isn’t the killer honestly – it’s just working with the file. I’m going to look further into proxies. Sadly, (This is where I put on a dunce hat) I’ve never heard of that before.

Thanks for the feedback…and thank you VERY much for that PDF reference. That is gold!

…wait. I’m an idiot and I answered my own question. How about taking the velocity of the cannon from a high value in one frame to 0 in the next.

    GENIUS!
