Ok. I think I’m losing my mind here.

For whatever reason, I can’t get this lil’ rain droplet animation to work as a grid particle.

Here is what I want, and this sample was done by manually placing the “splash” animation through out the scene in 3d space.

Here is the results of attempting using that layer as a particle.

Whats odd is the “final render” is different from what the ram render was showing me. The ram render showed me the particles overlapping each other until the screen got grey. Like, they weren’t going away at the end of their 7 or 8 frame animation sequence.

Is there a better way to do the “random rain drops” in AE using the one “drop” animation? Doing it manually in 3-D space doesn’t seem like the most optimal way to do it. And particles are proving to be smarter than me.

What particle system are you using?

just the particle system inside of AE. I was trying to use the grid particles. I’ve used the fountain one before and was able to get the results I wanted. This time through I’ve had no luck. Time is becoming a factor on this as well so I’m working through the scene and going to come back to the particle rain drops later with my fingers crossed.
