  • Gee I wish you could edit your posts…..

Both the DVD and BR I created shows 16-235 levels from the 0-255 levels presented to it from Premiere via the MPEG2-DVD or MPEG2-BR …….

I’m hoping to faithfully create a BR (At Least) or DVD with 0-255 levels…

    ???????????

  • As you know, a CS6 Master license allows you to install on a Desktop and a Laptop….

My Desktop has a Matrox System, Laptop does not…. In earlier post I mentioned that there was a possibility that Matrox could be part of this issue (No email from them yet).. So to Avoid the Matrox possibility…. I did today’s tests on Laptop….. To remove Matrox as a possibility of that clouding this issue…

So,, I copied the 2 files (H264 SD and HD) that shows 0-255 levels on my desktop system in Premiere —- to my laptop, and imported that into Premiere on my laptop……

I then exported that from Premiere as MPEG2-DVD or MPEG2-BR and brought each into Encore as DVD or BR project, set as first play, and then burned a DVD and BR from that footage….

The DVD and BR that was burned was played back on a Sony TV and Sony BR player… Each set for Auto format, or Y,CB,CR 422, or Y,CB, CR444, or RGB(16-235). or RGB(0-255)……
and both the DVD or BR disc created in Encore (With the video footage that shows 0-255 on Premire/Matrox system at SDI or HDSDI or HDMI output to the same Sony monitor used on the Premiere/Matrox test, where 0-255 was seen!

    So, I ask again…..

Can Encore burn video with 0-255 levels, or is it limited to 16-235? I’m hoping that I’m doing something wrong….

I got a strange error message at completion of upload to your root directory…. I’m now uploading it to your Encore Files Directory….
Filename in both cases is library.zip

It’s being uploaded to root directory of your ftp site now

  • No sweat. Let me get to system and I’ll provide file type and try the re-render for DVD & BR. You mention.

This is not a color space conversion or setup issue. I should be able to get this info tomorrow afternoon.

  • Thanks Jeff. I was specific as to levels because it was needed to be. I will not have access to system to try the MPEG/-DVD encoding method. I’ve posted a skmelar post a Matrix site as I’m seeing 16/235 on Matrox Output as well, and Matrox does not have setup screen accessible via Encore, yet outputs video via Encore. In Premiere you have to turn on Allow Super Black And Allow Super White to allow 0-255 levels.
I hate having two possibilities with me having access to neither with certainty!!!!
That’s why I have been asking if Encore passes 0-255.
