Thanks Bill, Fun. Its funny I have been looking at 24P so much the 30P looked odd. Nice job. I like the surprise when you got out of the swing and the other guy was there. I didn’t see him back there at all. Was that real, he was just that well lined up, or that the next shot had him there?

My first thoughts were that perhaps the Deck could use a little cleaning. Don’t know where you are located, but if you have a lot of humitidy or dust, the machine may have collected enough crud to throw off the ability to read TC and thus cause some problems. It can also happen with a questionable bit of tape that has been exposed to an extremem in weather and not yet re aclimated.

But all of the crashing on the computer takes a toll as well, at least it does on my PC and so it might stand for a bit of clean up as well.

Leon, yes he can shoot in 720P/50 that is the cameras Native recording mode. He can switch it to record 25PN and then it will record 25 frames and only 25 frames.

Double check your versions, needs to be 5.04. Anything less and you get the message you are getting.

Just like the camera cared that the format matched up, so will FCP. Match your import to the format you recorded it at, which is not 24P but is either 60P or 30P, but you should be able to figure this out by how the camera identified it. Once you have it into the Quicktime, you will be able to import it into the timeline that you want it on.
