Better chroma key in AE? Are you using Keylight to Chroma Key? Keylight works great.

Now what I want is better Chroma Keying in PPro.

Make sure you’re listening to the audio thru your computer speakers and not thru your external audio device. This is in the Project Settings option.

You should only use your external audio device for audio if you’re ALSO using the external DV device for video. If you don’t, there will be a substantial audio delay.

That would be nice if they did. What would be even nicer is if they also fixed it in CS3.

But I guess there won’t be any more major updates to CS3 since CS4 is due out.

I just want to know if they fixed the buggy and sluggish titler in CS4. That alone would be worth the upgrade.

September 2, 2008 at 11:15 am in reply to: Delivering a PC movie to a MAC

I’ve taken PPro CS3 projects to/from the MAC/PC several times, all with little or no issues.

The only thing you may encounter are certain filters/effects that exist on the PC that are not on the MAC version. Also, be sure you’re using fonts that the other platform also have installed.

Other than that, all the video and audio are compatible, and the project files open fine.

File paths, too, may be an issue. Try to keep all your assets in the folder where the PPro project lives.

I see now QuickTime is up to 7.7.1. Anyone successfully running AJA Xena + Premiere PRO CS3 with 7.7.1?

    I’m still back at 7.1.5.

August 2, 2008 at 1:33 am in reply to: Panasonic AJ-D250 and Premiere Pro CS2

I’ve recently had the experience of capturing DVCPRO material on Premiere Pro CS3 with an AJ-D250 equipped with the optional Firewire AJ-YAD250 board installed.

    It worked perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll ask AJA. We don’t acquire via Firewire from that deck.

I think you’re permitted to install on 1 desktop and 1 laptop, providing they aren’t used at the same time.

    Or something like that.

July 8, 2008 at 11:41 pm in reply to: spot number question

Often, our clients request an “ISCI” code to be applied. Sometimes they supply it, other times, they don’t.

When they don’t, and they say to just make one up, we do just that. Usually, an ISCI code is a mixture of numbers or letters.

Ones we’ve used in the past are “CPYG-01 07/18” or the like. The first part is our internal job number, and the second is the month/day is was edited.
