Nevermind. I wasn’t using the “Import Premiere Project” function, but rather the normal “Import” command.
Is this new in CS5? Did CS3/4 behave this way?

November 29, 2010 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Dropped Frames During Playback on Decklink StudioThis is obviously a widespread issue, but unfortunately, Black Magic doesn’t feel it’s serious enough to address.
We’ve just learned to deal with it.

I think when you shoot 24pa, the CAMERA removes the pulldown. Shooting 24p includes interlaced frames that make it possible to show 24p material on a 60i television.
Only shoot 24p if you know the end product will be displayed on a TV.
But, I could be wrong. It’s all very confusing.

UPDATE: Looks like MotionJPEG Quicktimes on my Windows7 workstation do NOT have the “shift” that seems to plague my PhotoJPEG Quicktimes.
Maybe this will help troubleshoot this on your end.

August 6, 2010 at 12:34 pm in reply to: Dropped Frames During Playback on Decklink StudioYes, our solution (for now) is to leave the GPU acceleration OFF. Seems a shame, however. It looks so promising and tempting.
Here’s my drive speed test results from the Blackmagic Speed Test utility:

August 6, 2010 at 12:07 pm in reply to: Dropped Frames During Playback on Decklink StudioThanks for the reply. I’m using an external eSATA SOHOTANK 4-drive RAID array for my storage. The read/write thoughoput is about 150MB/second, which I’m, told should be adequate for playback in my scenario.
Plus, if it were a drive speed issue, why then would it work when GPU acceleration is off?

And here’s a full-resolution sample of the output I see when this “shifting” occurs.

Here’s a little video I just recorded that demonstrates the shifting problem:

I contacted BlackMagic, and they actually got back to me the next day.
Someone named Albert Chu from their support engineering department said they weren’t aware of this “shifting” issue, but they’d look into it.
I mentioned that others have this same problem. It might help if you also contact Albert. I’ll give you his email in private, so contact me.
Send him your system specs. I did. Maybe if more people inform them of this, they’d develop a solution.
We have three Decklink Studio workstations here. All have this seemingly random “shifting” issue.

I get seemingly random CS5 64-bit crashes, too, with my freshly-installed Decklink Studio system.
Is it BM or Premiere?
I don’t seem to get as many problems if I edit a non-BM (i.e., a DV) job on the same system.
