I can send a QT movie. Not evident in a still image. Vertical lines shift. The lower quarter of the screen shifts 8 pixels to the right or left in relationship to the next quarter above. And that quarter shifts in in relation to the one above it. I changed my RT settings and scales to frame size, not percentage, still have the same problem. New material imported through the Dual Adaptor plays perfectly. This new dual adaptor sourced material, when taken to my Imac via a firewire drive alsp plays back perfectly. (the Imac has the old panasonic driver and one generation back QT and OS. I think it might have something to do with the new intel drivers panasonic came out with.
A guy on the DVXuser forum noted a similar problem in the HVX 200 workflow section and he is using FCP 2, not FCP 5.1.4:

Bizarre. I have a brand new 2.4 GHz 17 MBP and FCS2. I’m also noticing that shifting. After installing the latest updates (speculated to include a new video driver) Motion crashes like CRAZY!!
Reinstalled OS and FCS2, everything worked fine, until I installed the Apple updates, then Motion started crashing again.

Update on above issue.
Imported new P2 footage using dual adaptot into MBPro looks perfect. Something about changing the OS or the QT system must be causing this problem. Anyone else run into this? -
At NAB 2007 La Cie rep told me all drives are the same, Hitachi, Seagate, Maxtor, WD.
Warning Will Robinson, Warning, not all drives are the same. Weibe Tech seems pretty rock solid. GTECH solid, but expensive. Seagate makes Enterprise drives designed for RAID use. about $40 more per drive for a 500 G drive Newegghead. -
Been shooting with the HVX for about a year. I light interview with lots of contrast. Definite noise problems in the shadows, don’t think it is a matter of proper lighting unless you consider flat lighting wonderful. Also prefer using Cine V, which is noisier, love all the colors, love close ups, wide shots suffer. Comes with the 1/3″ chip territory. You can crush the blacks, but shadow gradation suffers. Black press might help.

NAB indication– AJA booth right across from Apple. Black Magic, somewhere in the corner.
AJA rep indicated that they have more hardware based processing, AJA guy also said SATA raids not so good, SCSI or Fiber Channel produced bettter results. SATA interfears with processing cycles, especially if they are software based. AJA is much more expensive, but considering RED and APPLE are sleeping with AJA….. -

Thanks for the great tips. Still have one question though, these functions fill the grey frame, but what if you want to resize the frame, instead of having to drag the frame handle in the bottom right corner?

Over exposing a stop or two? Preserve highlights at all cost. I think overexposure looks far worse that grain. Please explain.

Just returned from NAB looking for a RAID. AJA booth recommended a SCSI hardware interfaced box filled with Hitachi or Seagate Sata drives and Atto SCSI card — much more robust than a straight SATA set up and much less expensive than fibre channel– with the protection of RAID 5. Software based raids (I think this is the only way to get RAID 5 out of a non hardware based raid) can take hits on the the system processor and actually degrade the image. Another bonus for SCSI–you can interface with a LTO-3 tape backup.
You might also want to check out the new SAS boxes and ATTO SAS card. 3X faster that SCSI, AJA has not testing SAS yet, and and still advises going with the SCSI set up. -
