If I have two tracks from an interview on a timeline, linked and in sync, track one with lav, track two with boom mic , and I want to reduce the level on track two using the pen tool, is there a key that I can hit in conjunction with the pen tool that keeps level changes confined to track two rather than being mirrored in track one. Is there also a key sequence for changing one track’s entire level (select function rather than pen function) that applies changes only to one track.

In the upper right hand corner of the timeline…on the button bar…there are two buttons. The one on the left is the LINKED SELECTION button. Turn that off and your audio and video tracks that are tied to one clip become independent.

    Shane:

    Thank you!
I was hoping for a keyboard shortcut, Media 100 had this feature. I Think you hit option and the mouse to make it happen.
