yeah it’s 9.19 and the current one is 9.28, I got an email from Panasonic customer support and they informed me that the download page is now working, so we’re good to go, thanks.

The link in that press release for downloading the 9.28 firmware update does not work, I get a page which says in english and in chinese that the download is not available please try again later, I’ve been here before and the dad link has been like that since last week.

sounds to me like he’s forgetting to turn on the Variable Frame Rate setting in the Scene File menu, then you choose what frame rate, 12, 15, etc. up to 60 for over cranking.

Hey Scott, I’m also in the Bay Area and just bought the HPX300 as well. I have the Bebob Zoe 8-Pin zoom control from my old JVC HD200 which has a similar Fuji 17x lens, anyway, the Zoe will not work on the new Fuji lens that comes with the HPX300, I called 16×9, Inc and they said it should work. Rather than returning the lens to B&H I decided to sell the Zoe on eBay and I bought Fuji’s 8-Pin remote on eBay for $500.

There’s lots of posts and threads here with little scraps of info about VFR recording on HVX and HPX cameras. Does anyone know of a single source that gives a thorough step by step explanation of the process. I have a new Pana HPX300 and I’ve done some tests with the 1280×720 VFE settings but things don’t look right, the slow mo just looks like stuttering in playback, so obviously something is wrong. Anyway, any suggestions for a single source on VFR recording would be helpful.

I’m trying to use the Log and Transfer tool as well and whenever I click on the little folder icon in the upper left corner I can browse to my P2 folder which has the Content folder and the .txt file but when I select it nothing happens. I just bought the HPX300 and shot three text clips. So we’re only talking about importing 3 files, total size is under 3 GBs. I transferred the P2 Card files via my Mac laptop and from the laptop to my MacPro via Firewire Target. I’m running FCP Studio 2, with all updates. I’ve also installed the AVC Intra Decoder, and P2CMS from Panasonic’s website. Not sure how that P2CMS works, I explored it a bit but I don’t see how it exports .mov wrapper files that FCP can import. When exported from P2CMS it just made duplicate copy of the original P2 Contents folder of MFX files etc. The test clips I shot were using the HPX300’s AVC 100 codec shooting 1920×1080/60i footage.
