When I’m loading up my production kit I now have to remember my bi-focals and/or reading glasses. I can’t hear the audio quite as well as I once did, either. And those steadi-cam gigs are now out of the question. And humping gear at 49 and counting sure ain’t what it used to be…but like my former co-worker Mark said, never stop learning. This internet machine sure is a great resource. Anybody need an M-Format recorder?

I tried running it through a bridging amp then into my camera. That will pass the not too stringent requirements for el cheapo productions.

I was using the Sennheiser SK100 G2 system until recently. I just learned that because of the digital conversion of TV stations, all wireless mics that operate in the 700 megahertz range are now illegal.
But hey, Sennheiser will give me $70 towards a new $1,000 mic.Too bad I didn’t pay attention sooner, so I could have budgeted for a new mic for this year.

When I use vignetting it’s usually because I’m using some of my old Tiffen filters that I bought for an old camera that I don’t use anymore, and the Step-Up ring that is required to use the otherwise obsolete (to me) filters creates the vignette. Who knew that my frugal ways would be so cool?
