    Thank you Nick. I am budgeting for a new Sachtler next fiscal year..I just needed something to get me through until July. At my age it better last a career. 🙂
    The Cartoni should get me through the next 4 months.

    What market is the job in? Here in the midwest it’s tough to find a steady gig like you described,with good benefits, that will pay over 60K a year…and that will include a lot of unpaid overtime. As with anything, there are a few exceptions.

    I picked up a Cartoni Focus system. I like it, but I don’t think the levers are going to be very durable.

    I use the winter gloves that have the slits in the fingertips, allowing you to expose the thumb and/or any fingertips. You can find these in the sporting goods department, or on the glove racks at many department stores.

    Just curious why you would encode as MPEG2 for YouTube? I thought that was pretty much just for DVD assets. Try as H.264
