Cheapo film transfer with audio
I recently acquired some old 16mm films that are in reasonably good shape. I want to do an “el cheapo productions” transfer to HD Video. I have the video end covered but I’m not sure how I can get good audio. The dull roar of the projector rules out miking the projector speaker. Can I feed out of the 8 ohm speaker jack using some sort of pad or box, then route to a line input on my camera? What do you audio pros suggest?

I tried running it through a bridging amp then into my camera. That will pass the not too stringent requirements for el cheapo productions.
