  • Well you made my day too! It’s really nice to know that after seven years this post is still being appreciated…

    Oh, to be precise:
Not only the broadcast filter, but ANY filter will solve this.
FCP just never processed these lines…
    Isn’t life wonderful?

The Broadcast Safe filter will remove the VITC.
You can check this by exporting a sequence of clips with and without the filter and opening it in VLC which will show you overscan.

This reply is 4 years too late but I was so surprised to find this feature that I just had to put in on the forum – it’s not even mentioned in the manual…

It’s just to verify if the frame offset is influencing the latency at all in your setup.
When you are using built-in outputs FCP should adjust this automatically.
If you see no difference with the offset to 30 (which is max) compared to 0 then you know you have to look
    elsewhere for an explanation.

I wonder if frame offset applies to this situation.
Do you notice any difference when you set it to, say 30?

I think these reel numbers are part of the mediafile.
If you reimport mediafiles do they have reel numbers?
If you highlight a clip in the timeline and look at the info under properties (Cmd-9, Logging Tab). does it show a reel number?

(and what is your workflow – did you use Log and Transfer to convert what kind of footage to what kind of media?)

This is perfectly possible. You should highlight your next logging bin instead of the project tab
(you could also select your next logging bin with the rightmouse button).

There are a lot of possible causes, but the bottom line is
that you’d better do your title scrolls in Motion.

Did you try making your media offline and then reconnecting?

And did you try exporting/importing your sequences via xml?
