Thanks! I downloaded TerraCin and that will help later on down the line.
I still need to go from
(1) a USGS DEM file ( https://data.geocomm.com/catalog/US/61069/2154/group4-3.html )
(2) into TerraGen.
(3) Then, bring that into C4D via TerraCin.So, I have steps 1 and 3 down. I have not found a free, Mac native program
that will allow the mysterious step 2: USGS DEM (.DFF when unzipped) to TerraGen.Any further ideas?

I still can’t get from a USGS DEM file into TerraGen.
The C4D manal says it supports VistaPro DEM format (Ref. Manual, Release 9, p.1071). This is a $50.00 Windows program, I am using a Mac w/o Windows installed on it.
It looks lilke other .DEM formats are supported as well, but only if they are “binary”. I found MacDem which may work, but it runs on an oudated O.S. ( https://www.treeswallow.com/macdem/index.html ).
I got TerraCin ( https://www.movingfrontiers.org/plugins/TerraCin/terraCin.html ) and that will get me from TerraGen to C4D, but I still need to go from a USGS DEM file ( https://data.geocomm.com/catalog/US/61069/2154/group4-3.html ) into TerraGen.
I have not found a free Mac native program that will allow this. Any further ideas?

I don’t know either.

Sounds like the project you are working on may be too big for your computer to handle.
Since it is a five part piece, maybe you can make each part it’s own project. Then you can “remove unused footage” to slim things down.
Having these fives smaller projects instead of one big one may work. Just make sure you choose “File” then “remove unused footage”. -
They are currently doing poor project management. Did these guys study business? They should have learned stuff…
Look at this on project management:

These are like a bachlors degree in art crammed into 45 mins. These are also very helpful. Download ’em and give it to those guys.

Also, be ready for long render times. I did color correction in After Effects for a film I worked on. The render times were about an hour per minute. Make sure you break your renders up be scenes! The files are large.
If you want to see the final results, here they are:

That is the link to the main page! You get a C- for effort, and that’s generous. Thanks for the reply, though.
Unfortunately, they do not have a decent way to search their site AND the customer support page links to a 404 error page.
Anyone else? Where is this plug-in?
