no, you can match the sequence settings or use one of the AVC-Intra 100 presets, then select the Export settings above when you’re ready to output. XAVC export doesn’t have to be manually dialed in any more than is detailed above as it is natively supported in CC.

Premiere Pro CC supports XAVC export. Select ‘MXF Op1A’ as the format and then the appropriate ‘AVC-Intra Class 100’ preset. 50/60p exports are currently not working due to a bug (exports succeed but camera has issues playing the files back) but 23.98/29.97 are working.

not without upgrading Premiere or sticking to formats with 16 bit audio. again, this is part of how older versions of Premiere work. one small improvement i can suggest would be to import using the built in media browser rather than File–>Import. if you set the browser to ‘XDCAM’ or ‘XDCAM EX’ you should see thumbnails immediately without having to drill down into folders and File–>Import.

You have a bad card or a card that otherwise isn’t keeping up and/or is putting file fragments in the wrong place. Or you are running very old firmware.
I have posted quite a bit on ‘Media Needs to Be Restored’. Please do a search for a more detailed explanation.
In short, it appears when foreign files are placed in any of the card’s directories. 99.9999% of the time it is completely harmless.
For example, if you open any of the folder on the card in Mac OS, hidden files are placed into every folder you touch. The camera sees these and prompts a ‘restore’ to verify the file structure and to check for the presence of new clips. In this example it will come up every time you put the card into the camera until you reformat because the foreign files remain after the Restore.
In the above example the message comes up when the card is first inserted. It should never come up during recording. If it does, you have a problem with your media. Reformat asap and if it comes up again switch to a different card.
You should also check your firmware version and apply any pending updates. The Restore prompt may come up with good cards if your firmware is older than 1.13.

This is due to older Main Concept codec components in Premiere. Certain formats (I believe anything with 24 bit audio) must go through an audio conform upon import. It is not unique to XDCAM.

1. use Sony Content Browser to manually import the files to a new archive. this will regenerate all the metadata as well as the correct directory structure and make the files easier to import. select a location in Browser’s Explorer window, go to the file menu, select IMPORT, browse to the .mp4s and import them.
2. Log and Transfer doesn’t work on EX files unless you have our L+T extension installed. You can find this under Applications–> ‘Legacy Applications’ at https://www.sony.com/xdcam-downloads . Note that you can also use Content Browser as your import plugin. When installed you’ll see an “import–>Sony Content Browser” option in FCP’s File menu.
The import rewraps to .mov whether you use Browser or one of the older plugins such as XDCAM Transfer or the Log and Transfer plugin. The files are not transcoded and remain in the original EX codec.

Thanks for the feedback. I know the 1.1.2 driver works under Mavericks but there are certain machines on which it doesn’t. We have the same version on our site, though (see my earlier post) it’s mislabeled as the older version.
Also that first link you posted is the firewire FAM driver for optical XDCAM products. It has no bearing on SxS.
