how to speed up the importing time of XDCAM video to PP CS6
I have just brought a Sony PMW 200,
PP takes time to import and then confirm the audio for editing.
While i tried the same on Edius & Vegas and it almost instantly is ready to play the video on timeline,
Can i know why is this so…? -

This is due to older Main Concept codec components in Premiere. Certain formats (I believe anything with 24 bit audio) must go through an audio conform upon import. It is not unique to XDCAM.

is there a way to make changes on any of the thing to make the process faster than what it is. -
not without upgrading Premiere or sticking to formats with 16 bit audio. again, this is part of how older versions of Premiere work. one small improvement i can suggest would be to import using the built in media browser rather than File–>Import. if you set the browser to ‘XDCAM’ or ‘XDCAM EX’ you should see thumbnails immediately without having to drill down into folders and File–>Import.

I have been using the adobe premiere pro cs6
so do i consider that you recommend me to use the 16 bit audio rec on the camera…?
also my cam records 4 channels i have thought of changing it 2 channels.
1 channel as original and the 2nd channel with wind and noise reduction for incase if it could help me in the post production work.
