  • what NickM says is true…it might just work if you’re not dragging it into another project.

I’ve had experienced the same problem that Zeech had, i’m using FCP 5.0.4 and it’s only on one project…

during that time, my collegue sorta nested…from the whole master sequence, then he added some supers and nested it and then slap on some stuff and further nested it…and in the last nested sequence, I did changes on the master sequence and in the last nest, it never updated a single pixel. :/

I had to refresh every single nest that i gave up, i painfully used the un-nested sequence instead.

    and

Zeech, you can just directly use compressor from FCP. set the In/Out point or better yet, (this is what i do) which is I create a new sequence just for exporting in compressor. So i could batch render it..the file names are long…if you have the time, rename it. it might be wise to do that…but, i couldnt be bothered. 😉

    Good luck.

I’ve not seen the keyboards for FCP yet…but ive started to customize my own keystrokes ( making the specialized keyboards – pretty worthless )… 😉 but then again, if there’s like a few people using the same workstation, i’d reckon you keep the keyboard layout as the default so everyone knows where everything is.

there’s this new nifty keyboard where each key is a LCD screen…not sure wat is it called but it’s cool…

    cheers

In addition to Alex’s post, he’s absolutely right about Sequence settings but that maybe affects if you captured NTSC and pull it into the PAL sequence

Have you tried switching the RT ? At the left corner of the timeline there’s a RT button, see if it’s Unlimited RT or Safe RT.

You could use unlimited RT for editing & playback purposes but in the end, what needs render…has to be rendered.

    Good luck

    hey…thanks for the reply…

i’m workin on a single video that is about 40 minutes long…even if i scrub and holding down the shift key…i can’t really tell where am i in the time line…is there any way to zoom into the timeline or is there any indicator showing i’m at 1/100th second on the timeline.

    thanks

what i usually do is to export a QT self-contained movie and use Compressor to convert it to m2v format & aiff under the Best QUality DVD. Then I’ll bring it into DSP for making the dvd.

I’m not sure whether this works but I’ve heard from a training i’ve attended that in DSP they would automatically convert your raw footage for DVD use.

Either way, the 1st method that i’ve mentioned always worked fine for me

    good luck

You mentioned corrupt sequence…i’m wondering what kind of corruption you mean by.

but thanks to autosave, i managed to get the filter back in place 😉

    thanks…
