March 3, 2007 at 6:17 am in reply to: HVX200 Blown Internal Fuse???

Thanks all; it’s getting serviced in Santa Monica at The Video Clinic. Ask for Serg, he’s been a great help and truly represents great customer service.

For anyone else who is thinking about purchasing the Elipz battery for their HVX200. BE CAFEFUL when connecting it to your camera. Make sure everything lines up properly i.e. matching grooves, aligning the Anton Bauer text, and having enough light to see what your doing 🙂 , Then connect the power supply to your camera. I’m still a little confused how I did it. Nothing was forced when connecting everything, but could have possibly nicked something when plugging everything together. Humm…???

Anyway, I’ll try it again when it returns from repair.

On a side note… The Elipz kit is actually very compact and seems like it will be a nice addition if… I don’t blow another fuse.

The thing is, that I wasn’t even using FCP. I was just trying to get the camera to show up as a drive on desktop. It seems like there’s no signal coming out of the camera. Humm… not sure what’s going on????

    Thanks,

February 13, 2006 at 8:15 am in reply to: Inexpensive HVX200 Workflow

    Thanks guys for the suggestions.

Gary, I’m not really sure what you mean?

Gary: “since it is a file transfer that is not an issue. however there is no NLE control of the P2 capture or record functions with the camera when connected via FW.”

I would be directly transfering it into a 500GB external hard drive from the P2 card(s) out of the camera, and then bring it into FCP5 via fire wire. Is this the wrong workflow?

    Thanks for the heads-up Mark!

The 2.7 machine is on its way! One thing though, the ATI 9650 graphics card seems a bit slower compared to a few other cards available, for a slightly higher price. Has anyone experienced challenges using this particular card w/ FCP5?

Thanks for your insight. It looks like I’ll be peeling off a few Benj’s now and later! 🙂
