[Julie Turner] “how many individual segments are there?
how many of those segments are video? audio?
how many cuts in the video overall?”I believe you can get most of these information in the timeline index. Select all the clips and it will show how many and the duration. Select Video or Audio accordingly. You might want to duplicate the project first and break apart all the compound clips first.
[Julie Turner] “duration of all source clips in the project?”
By project do you mean library? Just select all in the browser and the duration will be displayed at the bottom. Make sure to unmark all selections first (opt-x)
[Julie Turner] “number of favorites across all source clips?”
Same as above, just switch to Favorites.

May 15, 2019 at 3:23 pm in reply to: Is there a way to remove all audio automation on an entire project?Well, maybe the keyboard shortcuts have been changed. You can also use the menu command Reset 0dB in Adjust Volume from the Modify menu.

May 15, 2019 at 3:21 pm in reply to: Is there a way to remove all audio automation on an entire project? It doesn’t make all the volume the same, but it resets the volume to its original state and removes all keyframes. And won’t affect the video in any way.
But it’s always a good idea to duplicate the project (sequence) before doing anything drastic.—

I don’t think you can change the sample rate within Final Cut, you’ll need to use an external application, like Compressor. There’s also an online converter which should work:

Yes, it’s shown in the upper right corner in the info tab of the inspector. You can also enable Audio Sample Rate column in the browser.

[Scratch Sperber] “I prefer list mode, but our workflow requires us to see all the clips.”
In case you’re not aware of it, you can map Toggle Filmstrip/List View to the keyboard. So it’s very fast to switch back and forth between the modes.

One of those things I miss from Avid, Relink to Selected….
Depending on how many clips you have already in the timeline you can do it pretty fast with a few keyboard commands:
C will select the current clip
Shift-F will select the range of the clip in the browser
Shift-R will replace the clip in the timeline with the renamed clip
Cmd-2 will set the focus back to the timeline
Down Arrow will go the next clip
repeatYou will have to redo any J and L cuts, as well as any effects/audio you have done.
If there are many clips you want to replace you can use Automator to create a macro
