Make sure that in “tools->preferences->general->close media files when not the active application” is tick.

Thanks John for this explanation. Your way is more simple in a master project.
I ran into this problem a few weeks back. At that time, I use 3 tracks, parent 1 & 2.
– Track 1 sets to matchmove composite.
– Parent composite mode set to matchmove
– Track 2 and 3 normal alpha composite mode.

No problem to apply filter package as media FX on my computer using Vegas pro 10c x64.
Can you apply the filter package presets directly on the event?

Right click on the preview window and untick “adjust size and quality for optimal playback”

Check in View->Video envelopes->Event velocity .
My guess is that event velocity is uncheck

You should try to render directly to a DVD compliant file by using the mainconcept MPEG-2 codec, DVD template (PAL.

Sorry Mike, it’s my mistake. In preferences the “close media when not active application” was unchecked.
Update of the master project works perfectly when it’s checked.

Thanks for your feed back Mike.
What are the problem with my system?
My master project is a simple 6min video composed of 3 nested projects of approximately 2min each. All the videos are from a sony Z7, HDV 1080-50i. No fancy effect except few color correction.
I am editing this movie on laptop i7-720qm – 6gb memory (may be the reason??).
I have tried using the 32bits version of vegas, the master project doesn’t update as well.

So what is the correct behaviour? Automatic update or not?
Should I report this this as a bug?
