Some folks just looove to save a tiny bit of budget shooting so they can multiply their budget in post. Keylight in AE will be your buddy in this case. A helpful hint for render times, if you use a regular color keyer first, you can remove much info that keylight would have had to do. Add it after the color keyer(s) and you’ll save a lot of time.

match frame on ther clip on v1, lay that same clip on v2, color correct it as desired, nest an animatte effect on it, draw your mask and feather.

import it into AE, set your two keyframes and render. …or just type it AE. …or just type it in title tool and roll it there.

I use sppedramp and sapphire glows. I adhere to no template. It depends on the footage and the vibe. You can also just match frame motion clips.

I’ve never had to go to AE to dial in the colors I want.

It just takes time in the chair. You’ll notice if you mouse over icons, you’ll be flagged as to what they do. Don’t get frustrated. Break in times vary from user to user.
