Just hit the local wedding events/trade shows and advertise in the directories that will yield you the most bang for the buck. To this day, the yellow pages are still the best for wedding dudes.
Ensure your price point doens’t handicap you. I see lots of youngans offer $5k wedding video packages for a tenth of the price. This makes brides run, looking for folks with better quality as they see quality and price going hand in hand.

You’ll want to create a web show for this and sell your own sponsorships. Because you have so much content in SD instead of HD, television really isn’t your market at this point. Once you build a following with yur web show, you can pitch is a series if you like. Probably no need at that point as you’ll be selling your own sponsorships by then and can just keep feeding that rather than stepping backwards towards temporary broadcast/cable.

You’ll shoot what they hire ya to shoot. You’ll wanna set all that up before hand. Treating it like a dude with a camera at a tourist destination, snapping a shot as they get off the boat then holding your hand out for a buck simply aint the way to go about this.

I’d say experience will do ya good. I see many try to skip the proper steps of staffing until ready to freelance and freelancing until ready to start their own business. It walways translates to umployment with an overhead. Starting a business in any field with less than a decade of experience is giving all the competition a huge leg up.
This is not an if you build it they will come industry. It’s a you’ll know when it’s time to venture out on your own because you have a line of clients waiting for you to do it kind of industry.
