while all of their literature boasts how this is a native thang, I don’t know many who have had success with this.
I still have not been able to get a frame of HD material in my system that has HD in it’s name.

When I go HD, I am forced to go FCP.

my rule of thumb during avid’s trial and error era is if it aint broke, don’t fix it. (and if it’s kind of stumbling along, it’s working)
Venturing too far ahead of them technology-wise could result in massive amounts of down time. -
Avids have always imported cd audio hot. It’s not unusable, you just have to bring it down-14 per clip. Not sure why they never felt a need to address this.
If thats not what it was, adrenaline has a bug where it likes to capture worthless audio from time to time. It’s bagged me before when a client pops in to lay down a quick vo or somthing. I have learned to check EVERY clip before letting them leave. -
if you export em with an alpha (32bit) you can import em with alphas and ya wont have to do a matte and fill.

you are best off just turning off deck control and crash recording the vo.

This will be your tape or your heads. -
without animating masks, you are tied to just keying in some color, man. You will get some interesting effects by using a color effect on v1 and pulling the saturation all the way down and then keying some colors on v2 but to get what you are wanting, you will need to animate some masks.
You don’t have animatte so AE is where ya otta be headin’. -
