I dont know why a nested feathered edged animatte would do this.
Does it happen when spectamatte is not promoted to 3D? I have noticed many behavoral changes in and out of 3D mode with spectamatte.
AE is always a fool proof plan. I hate to sound like a beating drum here but you can quickly stack, key and mask in AE without any of these issues. Things like sift drop shadows, ect become much quicker and easier in AE in the long run.

what they’ve done to the good old Media Composer.
Man, it was’nt five, well maybe ten years ago when the very word Avid buzzed over all others. Ad agencies requested it, post houses boasted it… “it” was an Avid and that, to put it plain and simple, sold.
I still owe a gooood 5 figures on my “Media Composer” and in a last ditch effort to cash in before cashing in, they hawk it to kids in basements for software shelf prices?
It’s an admission of what the software was when they charged 45k for it, what it is today, and where they plan on going. It’s a slap in the face to everyone who has ever owned “an Avid” and especially, those of us who were forced to downgrade to Adrenaline and are still toting it’s note.
I saw severance mention for those who paid 4k for the software version but have not seen the KY jelly for Media Composer HD Adrenaline purchasers.
The bottom line translation to this announcement, at least by this user/owner is “we do not plan on making our products better. We plan on selling them cheaper instead. This is the new thinking and to all of our seasoned clientele, we offer the biggest finger since the ole mac flip off of ’99.” -

Over and over, the translation to this is we, the angry meridien-based Avid freaks of the world have had to eat it. We ate it when the Media Composer was downgraded to Xpress with animatte and we are eating it again with Avid’s new admission that their new MC is not a 45k box at all, but the software package we all knew it was when we were cornered into it. Now, they offer this to our competition when we still owe five figures on our adrenalines.
At the risk of sounding old, back in my day Avid was known as the industry standard. The name alone added validity to any post house. Now, in selling their flagship product on the shelves of Best Buy between Premiere and Vegas, man I aint grabbin the box with the purple A on it. -

in adrenaline’s case, there are even certain pats and strokes for the cpu itself.
