just another bug from the great downgrade.
Delete your decks on deck configuration then reassign em.

Outside of match-framming, you can do it visually. Takes more time but any of us who worked in linear suites have done it. Use words with visuals like Ps. You can lock em up on that letter.
So you dont have to do this over and over, you can create a new sequence from this then use that sequence as a source if you like. -
you will have to manually match your audio clip to the new duration of the video clip. Look at it’s duration and then when you apply your time compression filter, enter in that new duration.

only having 8 to work with, getting lost in avid’s audio tracks is not somewthing I have ever had to worry about.
You do know you can control/drag their size to shrink em, right?
You’ll be best off allowing yourself to see whats going on at any particualr edit, especially with a feature. -

what are your beefs with FCP? At that price point it’ll still be a close one.
Strange that in todays day in age we still have to either overlook FCP’s media management or over look everything from Avid but their media management. (or at least we could until they created the bugs in media tool and left em there)
Still, I am looking at one company that says they are working on it and another that has lied too much to listen to anymore.
It’d have to be one hechuva deal for me to ever purchase another Avid product.

You can’t even create a project at that size.
If shooting chroma key elements, do not use a compressed source at 5:1 in a 4:1:1 color. You will always have a hard time making DV look like tv. You can get away with using it as b-roll if you have nothing else but it’s not meant for stuff like keying. -
I’ve averaged billing 30 hours a week for the last 3 years.
I’m probably working close to that these days. Working from home has cut hours in half. -

I stopped looking at it as they are buying a production from me a long time ago. They are buying my time. That said, travel shinanigans are just payed hours I didn’t have to sit in the suite to me. Certainly hours I didnt get to bill otherwise. Someones payin for em. not me. -
Roger, you will never find a more diplomatic way of weeding clientele than raising your rate.
If they say yes, cool. your billing where ya need to be billing. If they say no, cool, you are open to bill what you need to be billing.
It’s not easy to pass up on a half rate when no rate is offered. But if you keep working for half price, you are removing the need for someone to offer you full price.
In short, to raise one’s rate, one simply has to raise it and stick to it.
