Not sure why they bring it in hot.

Your levels have to match your tone. It’s what it’s used for… so they can set up the tape.
You’re watching the levels as you master, right?
And you QC tapes before sending them out?

I’ve only used 3.5.1 with interplay. I don’t use interplay with my system and have not had a need (or been able to run the risk) of updating from what it came with 3 years ago.
If it’s the dynamic link thang, just open the menu and click out of it. Frustrating, I know but ya don’t have to relink anything.

Kind of funny that we are peckin at MC v4 today… the version MC was at 15 years ago.

You’ll fly by your external scopes for levels and lay off according to the networks’ specs. It’s usually a minute of bars and tone, 8 seconds of slate, 2 seconds of black with the show starting at 1 hour even drop frame.
But again, you’ll want their guidlines before mastering.

You have only hooked up audio and video and have not hooked up your black burst yet.
