Thanks for this. What we had is a presenter audio being sent from CA to CO. Our audience and their audience had speakers and an audio system, mixers and that. We were broadcasting through streaming video so they were seeing us but we were not seeing them. So they (remote) tried to use Skype in their mixers so they could pick up their microphones and ask us questions, while we were also taking it into our mixer, which of course was going out into the cameras in the stream. So I’m thinking it is one big feedback loop. Nasty thing. And then there is a little delay in the broadcast stream as well. So maybe it really isn’t a feedback loop but some clashing technology. But is there a way or some technology that we could have used to the remote site could hear us as well as we hear them? Seems like simply because there was a delay in the stream it might be a problem.

4:2:2 always, but if you use the other, make sure you use a light magenta gel on your strike light for better separation, especially with gray hair.

Just checking my sources and I might have gotten that formula from “Greenscreen Made Easy” from Hanke & Yamazaki, or “The Green Screen Handbook” by Jeff Foster. Likely its from “Greenscreen Made Easy.” Note the spelling in both titles. I also have a Reel Classroom DVD by Carl Gundestrup titled “Light On Green Screen Lighting.” It’s been a while since I’ve referred to these.
So I’m interested in if you think you could have avoided the green splash by flagging off the reflection or would the flag have come into the shot? Would a green flag do the trick then? Just wondering about tricks that could work.

I use Primatte. I often use a sequence of filters: Matte Magic as the first applied filter, then Primatte RT, then Color Smoothing on top of that. I forgot where I got that formula from but it’s been nice to me.

You might try doing a garbage matte of some kind, or doubling the layers of the video without offsetting the synch of the timing of the two layers and crop the top layer down to the keyboards but not apply a matte to that top layer. You’d keep the green color tones on that top layer then. If it’s a moving shot then you’d just have to follow the crop edges. It should be seamless.
Backing up, do you know how you got the green spill? Not that this is important to solving this, but I am interested.

I take it you mean FCP7? You can’t edit mpg4 unless you use a plug-in like the one Calibrated Software offers: https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/

I had this happen to me once after I instructed a cameraman on how to ingest XDCam footage by using XDCam Browser. Instead he moved only the mpg4 files over. It really screwed things up for me. Calibrated software was the only solution. I take it you have the XDCam drivers in place?
So a thought is to create an empty, new BPAV folder and copy the Mpg4 files into the same CLPPR folder in the right place and see if you can use XDCam Transfer to get them over into FCP. Make copies of the Mpg4 files though, just in case.
So XDCam is made to work through BPAV folders and the entire BPAV folder must be moved properly, and I use XDCam Browser for that, into its own exclusive folder, taking care not to overwrite the BPAV folder that might be there from another card.
This same kind of problem raises its ugly head on these posts quite often, cameramen not familiar with how to ingest and save footage properly. Your footage is still there, but Calibrated may be the only solution for you. You can download it for free but it has a watermark until you purchase it. Good to test it first.
