  • Thanks for your reply. My Shogun is new and I thought the red bar was a recording indicator. I talked with the client and sure enough they were able to take a straight DVI to HDMI out to a monitor they have sitting around and the output worked like a charm. Which leads me to believe that I should have used my AJA ROI with DVI throughput and recorded through SDI. I’m not sure what does this, but it is painful. In an OR it simply is not possible to train a camera on the screen as those screens get moved around quite a bit and they are touchscreen anyway.

  • Thank you! I am going to pursue this. I very much appreciate this.

I will call this Blackjet company Monday and see if their is anything about their device I can do, otherwise I will go with the SBAC-US20.

I format these cards in my EX1 and EX3 cameras mostly. Otherwise after I ingest I simply erase the cards. I can’t even seem to get this device to work in OS 10.11.6 El Capitan.

  • Happy days! I thought I would submit the problem once again Pixel Film Studios and this time the gave me the solution, which was to delete 3 apps, the Autotracker apps from the PFS folder in Applications. Now my FCPX system works like old times, the color pickers are back, the backgrounds are back too. So it wasn’t a matter of not having them installed after all, but they were somehow blocked by this Autotracker. So beware when they put the warning below not to instal the plugin on older OS systems.

  • The problem was resolved somewhat. I had to reinstall FCPX entirely, however after reinstalling it, not all of the Motion items, such as colored backgrounds were downloaded with FCP. I attempted to install those separately, but did not have success at that. I have been busy enough that I have used work-arounds, creating my own backgrounds in Photoshop and that, and not have had time to really try to fix FCP. Another oddity that is happening is that when I turn on my computer, FCPX will not start up until after about 15 minutes. Likewise with iTunes for some reason. I have initiated moving over to Premier but must admit that I came to really like FCP when it worked fully.

Thanks for this. I’m afraid I am now out the door for 10 days and will have to attempt these remedies when I return.

  • Fabulous! Thanks! So I was still having trouble taking HDMI into the Ki Pro and it turns out I also had SDI audio engaged. It was giving me the signal mismatch message. It needs analog audio or the same HDMI audio. Also it works only in 720p (1280×720) with the Ki Pro I’m afraid. That seems a little weird.

Actually it did not work. In fact now some of it is out of sync. I’m going to just go over to FCP 7 and do the few edits there and export them as a clip. Thanks for your help though.
