I am editing a talk I originally edited in FCP 7 and transferred it to FCP X using 7 to X for Final Cut Pro. I had to cut off the end of a shot/statement which would have gone into the clapping audience soon after, and replace that with a two minute set of clips from another timeline. Well, when I make the cut to the end, all clip visuals disappear as they are supposed to, but the audience can still be heard clapping in the same spot where they were before. The playhead doesn’t stop where it should either, at the end of the timeline. It keeps going. Then when I place the new clip at that cut, the ghost audio overlaps with the new audio! The audience clapping can be heard on top of the new clips. Has anyone seen this or know how to fix this? Thanks!

Create a new Project timeline and copy paste the entire edit. Should go away.

Actually it did not work. In fact now some of it is out of sync. I’m going to just go over to FCP 7 and do the few edits there and export them as a clip. Thanks for your help though.

    Trash the render files.

I ran into a similar issue to this with 10.3.3. I was leaving imported files in place instead of copying them into the project. The video files would automagically refresh when I updated them in external apps, but the audio I exported out of Audition wasn’t changing. Finally I emptied the trash and the new file would then work. Seems like an odd oversight when other parts seems to play well together.
