I thought I saw somewhere that you can purchase the DVCPROHD CODEC for the PC. I can’t remember where I saw this though.

Works Great! I just purchased a HV20 for a trip that I’m taking. Just plug it into your firewire port and FCP recognizes. Image quality isn’t too shabby either.

Try adding a deinterlacing filter to the clip. This seems to help sometimes.

Basically you have to set up After Effects to read only a portion of the memory because Rosetta is not set up to handle a lot of memory. If you read the posts you’ll understand what I mean.

Yep. I have a Mac Pro 3Ghz running Final Cut Pro 5.1.2. I’ve noticed a lot of strange behavior. Maybe Apple will fix it with 5.1.3 or 6.

Actually what I mean is that the newer Lacie Drives seem to have a lot more problems than the one’s I bought a couple of years ago. I don’t know if it’s an Apple thing or a Lacie thing but within the last 6 months any time I buy a Lacie drive it always seem to have weird problems.

Worked like a charm. I checked my activity monitor and it was using a lot more of my processors than before. I think you solved the problem. It rendered without a hitch. I’ll try to get the word out about this so everyone can benefit. Again thanks for solving the problem.

So far using the settings that you mentioned earlier my render is moving around 40% faster than it was before. It’s also gotten a lot farther than it did before. Before it would get around 20% into the render and it would crash. The render is now 50% done and so far so good.
