This bug has been around for a couple of years now, and I believe it still exists. (Not sure if it’s the same you’re experiencing) After you create a TimeFx change to a clip, you have to hit apply before rendering. If you just type in a TimeFX speed and then hit render or just move on with the edit without hitting apply, I believe you get a freeze frame of either the beginning or end of the clip when it eventually gets rendered.

  • What hardware are you using for your video in/out? You probably need to update your drivers.

Adding a manual re-link option sure would be a nice feature. Creating some flexibility in the re-linking process would add a significant benefit.

You might want to double check your video input settings, and make sure they match your timeline.

Hi Floh. I have the render errors cleared up, with a bad preference and project file.

I was using a 1080 timeline with my 4K footage, while rendering, that’s when I would experience the errors.

I was questioning your comment earlier in this thread referring to possibly using the Kona3 to output to 1080. You mentioned using a 4K timeline to output in High Def. I thought perhaps there was a hardware based downconvert that I wasn’t aware of. I think that I misunderstood your comment.

    Thanks for the response.

You might want to check your audio out preferences in AE to make sure they’re not set to your aja card.

Hi Floh. I’m embarking on a RedOne 4K project, and I’m getting all kinds of Media100 errors when I try to render a 4K clip inside a 1080Psf program. You mentioned using the Kona3 to output a 4K program in high def, I was wondering how you do that in M100. I can see the program via the Kona3 in its low res form, but I don’t have an option to render it to full quality when I’m in a 4K timeline.

I’m running M100 Suite 2.1, and I also have had an occasional lock up when exiting Red. I noticed that when I’m in a hurry, I tend to click in the M100 timeline before Red has completely handed control back to M100. When I do that, I tend to experience the lock up, but not every time. With this as a theory, when I’m finished in Red, I hit apply, then I make sure that I wait until M100 is back full before I begin to resume work in the timeline. I have not had the lock up since I started waiting. I don’t know if this helps anyone, but it might be worth a try.

How are you exporting the clip from M100? Are you specifying a range? I’ve had issues when exporting out a range that didn’t have anything on any layer. Essentially, if there is an empty frame containing no clips in the range, or an unrendered black clip some where in my range, the Animation codec will appear. My workaround to this, in the case you have a black clip, is to put a 1 frame fade in or fade out in the black clip, so it is force rendered.
