  • Hi, it seems that when you copy the mask it jumps to the center point of the solid. This may have something to do with the size/position of the two layers not being the same.

  • Hi Craig, how do you want the mesh to look when it undulates/wiggles? It might be something as simple as using the Bezier Warp effect (or any of a number of effects in the Distort menu) you might also look at the Puppet tool. For the zoom, as you say, you can just scale up and pan & scan. As long as you are using vector graphics they will remain crisp – are you having a particular problem?

Hi Josh, this tutorial shows you a simple way to create a Bass heavy line which you might be able to segue to or link into your current setup.

Hi Kate, that’s a lovely piece. I’d experiment with the Bezier Warp and/or the Puppet Tool as starting points.

Hi Nico, There are a few elements going on there. You need to have a basic understanding of how After Effects works.
You might find the general principles here useful to add movement to the scale of the background image:
    https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/audio_to_animation/
There is also a program called Red Giant Trapcode Sound Keys which does a lot more.
Also look up the Generate/ Audio Spectrum and Audio Waveform effects in After effects which give you some initial ideas on how to go about creating the circular audio signal on the lower circle.
The flying debris is probably stock footage blended over the background image; this free footage might get you started:

There are also some simple particles flying around – probably a twinkling night sky tutorial would help you there.

Hi. Does it have anything to do with your Fill and Stroke being set to None/Alpha on the toolbar at the top of your screen? Do you mean the Add button is not opposite Contents in your Layer’s dropdown?

  • Hi Amy, sorry I can’t help with “droplets”, however does it have to be a .mov? If not, you could get him to put them as sequentially numbered jpgs (or whatever) into a folder and you could import them as an image sequence.

Hi. Duplicate your footage. On the upper layer draw a mask with its top edge where the text will appear from and make it deep and wide enough for the text to fit under it. Put the text layer between the two video layers and as it rises it will appear from behind the masked video layer. I think that’s what you are trying to do?

Hi Justin, I would suggest adding a solid rather than null and resize/rotate as necessary to cover the area. Then double check that it is sticking. If so, copy its coordinates (including rotation if applicable) to your clean plate. Does that help?

Hi Roman, all you need do is draw a mask around the element you want to reveal the layer underneath. In your example the rear of the truck would be masked so as it passes the playground is seen.
