I have some advice…. use DV AVI!!!!! Actually, I’m not sure… does FCP support DV AVI? I don’t understand why you are using a extremely lossy codec… or are you using MJPEG compression at quality 100% or something like that? Someone please inform me!

Chris, I am assuming it is square pixels… correct?

  • Yes, this is still a known problem. Unfortunately, GridIron is only for Professional, so….. I hope Adobe will fix this as a FREE patch for everyone else.

I would suggest getting some explosions that were shot agains blue or black, and use your compositing skills/luck to make it look real.

    Good Luck.

By the way, this may be off-topic, but Steve said something about GridIron…. EVERYONE PLEASE download the GridIron X-Factor for AE6.5 Proffesional. It is free and it will eliminate the 100% CPU bug. Link: https://www.gridironxfactor.com/download/

JAK- I’m liking this 2 G5s Render Farm idea.

  • Yes, it is possible. But, you must realize that it will be VERY time consuming.

    Miguel-

Apparently you don’t understand Pixel Aspect Ratios. All movies that you see on a DVD are 720×480 with a certain pixel aspect ratio. 16:9 that you see on DVDs is actually 720×480 (which is technically square) with a 1.2 Pixel Aspect Ratio. This means that the width of the pixel is longer than the length of the pixel by a ratio of 1.2 .

    There you go.

Please do not flame me, but I have heard that PCs running Windows operate After Effects much more fluidly and, to be frank, faster, than the G5s. Thats just my 2 cents though…
