Thanks for the reply Vince.
Yes, 1.5.1 is on the machine…Cineform actually suggests keeping it on…plus, I’m still trying to complete a job in 1.5.1.
I haven’t tried the good old “delete prefs”…thanks for the reminder…I’ll keep attacking this, let me know if anything else comes to mind.

I have found this anomally at times as well…which must be a bug. You might try remapping the keyboard function to another key, closing it(maybe PPro as well) and then go back and remapp it again to see if it takes.

I still have my DigiLE on my system and use it occasionally. PPro doesn’t support the Digisuite(capture/RT playback) but it will import Matrox files and render them. The results aren’t great however.
What I typically do if I need to source from BetaSP is bring the footage in thru Digitools or Premiere 6.5 and then use After Effects to mix formats and then create your master file for DV (PPro), or to a Digisuite MJPEG file for layback from Premiere 6.5.

Hi David,
Thanks for your time on this forum!
I’m looking at a similar workflow and with these products being fairly new, it’s difficult to find someone who’s using them in conjunction.
You mentioned that you don’t have to copy the .mxf file to your media drive for editing…how does the ingest work with .mxf? Do you have to ingest complete files or can you mark in/outs on the .mxf for cineform conversion and only bring in selected lengths? Also wondering if it’s possible to create subclips after ingest and then remove the original .mxf file?
The HVX is a great camera, I’m just concerned about the large file transfer, storage, and archiving process…as well as the logging process.
I shoot a lot of long interviews and would like to avoid transfering all of the .mxf files to my media drive.
Thanks,

Many of the prices on that site look substantially lower than everything else I’ve seen.
Something smells wrong?

Hi Randolph…good thread!
I produce some short corporate “documentaries” and I’m in the same boat. Would love to have the format versatility of this camera but the size/costs of the P2 cards are a concern. I typically shoot about 2 hours worth of interviews and approx. 60 minutes of B-Roll a day. I’ll be watching any storage announcements closely over the next few months. We plan on purchasing a new camera late summer.
Also curious how folks are archiving their footage and if you’re able to easily create subclips to reduce the amount of on-line material and archiving.

Maybe a memory leak?
This sort of thing happened to me with the DV Matte Pro plug-in.

My clips play back on both the source monitor as well as the NTSC monitor via firewire…as does a clip in my bin when you click on it and hit the space bar.
Make sure your Project Settings-DV Playback Settings are setup properly. Also…power up your DV deck/camera before your launch PPro.
For your timeline timecode, there’s a small arrow in the upper right of your timeline…select Sequence Zero Point and set your initial timecode.
I’m using 1.5.1 with a Sony DSR-30.

Thanks…sounds like there’s at least some options.
