I’m using 2.0 for the first time and my audio is extremely erratic/glitchy. Even with one track of music or voice, there’s stuttering…never had this problem in 1.5, even with multiple tracks and multiple f/x. Let me know if you have any suggestions for troubleshooting. Here’s some steps I’ve taken so far to try and isolate…

-The problem isn’t file specific(happens with different sources, whether 48kHz or 41)
-I don’t believe it’s scratch disk based…I have a Raid0 and an internal SCSI, and have tried various configs for original media, previews, etc.
-Updated my soundcard driver, although this is just an OEM SoundMAX.
-Tried all three of the combinations of Audio Hardware settings within PPro(Pro, Default, 1.5, etc).
    -PPro 1.5 still works fine
-This is a CineformHDV project, but the same problem exists for normal SD DV projects.
    -Not running multiple applications simultaneously

I recently did the SP2 upgrade…wondering if there’s some system settings that need to be changed that are PPro 2.0 specific??

I’ve done a search here, at Adobe’s site, and at Cineform without much luck…let me know if you have any suggestions…thanks!

    Greg,

After all this, it may be worth trying a clean install of Premiere, if you haven’t done so yet, even deleting preferences may help.

Is 1.5 installed on the same machine ?

    Thanks for the reply Vince.

Yes, 1.5.1 is on the machine…Cineform actually suggests keeping it on…plus, I’m still trying to complete a job in 1.5.1.

I haven’t tried the good old “delete prefs”…thanks for the reminder…I’ll keep attacking this, let me know if anything else comes to mind.
