For those of you that have been using the new Dynamic Link, question…

If you create an AE comp from your PPro timeline and then want to repurpose that clip downstream but with a few changes…different B-Roll, different text (for a series of TV spots for example)…can you save that second clip as a different comp in AE, or will it always be locked in as that initial comp, thus changing your first clip?

You can save it as a second comp in your AE project, but it will not by dynamically linked to the Premiere Pro project. But all is not lost. You can simply offline it in Premiere Pro and link to the new version in your AE project. Or, you could just import the second comp as a second dynamic link and have both in the Premiere Pro project panel.

Thanks…sounds like there’s at least some options.
