What on earth has happened to After Effects?
Hello,
I am running AE 6.5 Pro on a G5 V.10.3.9 Dual 2.5GHz with 5.5 GB DDR SDRAM.
The project I am running has just got a heap of low-res photos and titles.
The problem: Everytime (every second time) I click on a button, move something, click on a layer etc.. it goes into the spinning beach ball (spinng world of death) for anytime between 3 seconds to 2mins, then recovers.
I have tried restarting, wokring in low quality, and using the ‘purge all’ button. All other programs (Final Cut Pro, Cleaner, DVD Studio don’t have any problems and they are dealing with more intensive video) are closed.
This has never happened before… This is a 15 minute video, but it’s broken into 1 minute comps.
Any ideas?

Maybe a memory leak?
This sort of thing happened to me with the DV Matte Pro plug-in.

Do you have the 6.5.1.patch installed? This resolved slowdown issues on some machines. If this doesn’t solve the problem, try reducing your undo levels to 5, and turn off “Sync time of related items in comps” – (something close to that) in Prefs.

Make sure all used media lives on local drives. If you are networked, unplug the network cable and see if any media becomes off line.
